For those of you who missed the announcement last week, Pattern Crush is my newest sponsor It's a brand new shop, and it's owned by my local friend Samantha.

Hop on over and take a look at the shop - and use the coupon "Hohoho" to get an extra 10% off  at checkout! (Coupon expires 12/31/12)

Pattern Crush is currently taking pre-orders for Tula Pink's awesome new line Salt Water (which is currently on sale)!  Today you have a chance to win a fat quarter bundle of Salt Water in the aqua colorway!

Tula Pink Salt Water FQ Bundle in Aqua
For a chance to win please check out Pattern Crush's shipping policy and leave a comment here to let us know what you think about it.

The shipping policy is a bit different than many etsy shops because the shipping on the total purchase is combined instead of adding a charge for each cut of fabric. For example, the first item purchased has a $4.95 shipping fee and there is no shipping fee for additional items (up to 10 yards). If half a yard or less of fabric is purchased $2.45 of your shipping will be returned to you.

Samantha would like to know what you think of this different format for shipping policy. Do you like it? If not, how could she make it better?

(Giveaway will end Wednesday Dec 19th at 6:00 (central), and a winner will be chosen using Random.org)

  1. I think that sounds logical. I would be an International and the 16.95 is high if you don't stuff the envelope which means a custom listing any time I shop for fabric on Etsy, which can be time consuming to find up to 8 or 10 yards! I'm loving Tulas latest line. We met her - she rocks!

  2. Shipping is a big factor for me when I shop online! I like this policy--the $4.95 max sounds good.

  3. I always refund excess shipping and I think she is awesome to do so as well. It always burns me up when people overcharge for shipping!

  4. 10 yards in flat rate envelope international orders? WOW! That's great! I like also that they have custom listings.

  5. I think it's a great idea! Sometimes seller's shippin policies will discourage me from using them.

  6. I think that's awesome.. I hate paying too much for shipping. ;)

I love that there's a fat eighth bundle in the shop!

  7. When I want to buy online, first I look shipping before order something and yours is awesome!!

  8. This is a sensible policy. It is disappointing to spend time creating a shopping basket only to feel burned by the shipping charges when I get to checkout (because I rarely think of it in the heat of fabric shopping!)

  9. Shipping is often a deal-breaker for me. Knowing there is a minimal shipping charge for a small order is a big plus!

  10. I also like the idea - and I always look at shipping before I even think about ordering from a site

  11. That sounds like a good shipping policy. I too look at shipping before I purchase online.

  14. I really like their shipping policy! I hate how sometimes you have to keep paying additional shipping... :) But that's just me!! :) Thanks for the chance to win!

  15. I think that's a very good shipping policy. I've noticed sometimes when people are selling an item especially fabric they have it priced low but shipping is high. It's really hard wanting to buy something and then seeing how much shipping costs.

  16. I think it's a good policy as well. I like & frequent shops with fair shipping rates - and I love when I get a refund for shipping overages.

  17. I like this policy. I am from Malaysia and the flat rate shipping seems good deal for me

  18. Love that kind of shipping policy! I sometimes hesitate to make any purchase when the shipping cost is almost as much as the few fat quarters of fabric I'm buying. I love that there's a max out cap.

You know what I always wanted to see? A frequent buyer policy..maybe after so many orders a chance for free shipping or a 1/2 price discount. I'd like to be rewarded for my loyalty and business.

  19. I love it. It is a very fair way of pricing shipping.

  20. To my opinion the shipping rate is reasonable. Thanks for the great idea!

  21. I prefer shipping that way - I actually decided against purchasing fabric from etsy a couple of times because their shipping per piece ended up being $12 or more for under three yards of fabric. As Fabric Crush has really reasonable prices anyway, this is a great shipping option!

  22. It seems relatively reasonable, but it should say how much can fit into a flat rate envelope and what happens after that.

Also, International is spelled wrong at least once.

That said, thanks for the opportunity to win!
