QuiltCon Block Challenge!

(Mind not the crazy stuff going on in the background. Yes that's a fabulous huge box from a fabric store... )

Is anyone else planning on giving it a shot?? You can read details here, but pretty much they're taking submissions for blocks that say "modern" to you, using the QuiltCon colors. They'll use about 20 of them for a quilt for the weekend.... and the others will be made into donation quilts.

The blocks will be judged by Elizabeth Hartman. That's pretty awesome.

I have at least one idea for a block. It's very "me" and also really modern to me.

By the way, my QuiltCon savings jar is filling up. I just might get there! :) Here's hoping!

  1. I want to go also! The jar is a great idea!

  2. I want to go too! And I am planning on making a block. can't wait to see what you come up with for the block!

  3. I hope you make it too. You are closer to my neck of the woods. I had to choose between QuiltCon and Sewing Summit. Let's hope it was a good choice - I think it will be. Looks like a blast and it is close to home. Can't go wrong there!!

  4. I can't wait to see what you come up with, I just saw this today and am excited about making one too! Hope to make it to Austin also, see you there!

  5. HOpe you make it! Perhaps we can carpool with the Chicago quilters on Threadbias....hhmmmm....
OH, love the Niffenegger book--I used to live close to Clark & Belmont so all those places were so amazing to visit again...especially Ann Sathers!

  6. I love the Jar idea... I have been stashing cash in my unders drawer... but your jar looks WAY classier! Austin 2013 or Bust!
